Makeup I Actually Wore + Used On Holiday

For the most part, I consider myself a reformed overpacker, I’ve gotten really good at whittling down my clothes down, I rarely bring my laptop, I’ve swapped from stacks of books to a Kindle, generally speaking I’m a much lighter packer these days. That is, until you get to my makeup bag.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not carrying 20 different lipsticks, multiple concealer options and a handful of foundations, but my gut instinct is to take a full face of makeup plus a few options for eyes and lips, for any type of trip, when it’s not always necessary. So while we had our week in Mallorca (and I definitely overpacked makeup) I tried to keep track of the products I ACTUALLY used, so I would know for next time!

Now, I didn’t actually end up wearing makeup in the day at all, it was too bloody hot anyway, it would have just melted off, so I stuck with a high SPF and the occasional face spritz to cool down. We got into a bit of a routine of showering and changing before dinner though, and I found myself wanting a little bit of slap in the evenings to feel a bit more put together.

It was still too hot in the evenings for a full face of foundation, so I just used my Sephora High Coverage Concealer under the eyes (anaemia eye bags still going strong), blended out with a round top buffing brush. This concealer blends really nicely even if you’re not wearing foundation, and is a nice medium coverage that looks natural on the skin.

Most of the time I skipped over cheek products, but I did reach for the Glossier Cloud Paint in Storm a few times, I just find this adds a nice natural flush to the cheeks, lasts well in the heat and is super easy to apply.

I had my brows threaded and tinted before we left so they required very little maintenance, I just kept my Glossier Boy Brow on hand to set them in place and add a little definition!

I couldn’t be bothered to faff around with eyeshadow so I just took my NYX Jumbo Eye Crayon in Yogurt, which is the easiest eye product ever. I literally just scribbled this on my lid, no brush or blending required. It’s a pretty, shimmery light gold shade and just makes it look like I’ve put in a bit of effort! Finish with lashings of my favourite Marc Jacobs Volume Noir Mascara and done!

I’ve actually been using these same five products a lot since we got home, I’m really feeling a simple makeup look right now!
