  • Good morning from my dark and moody kitchen, hey Saturday, this isn’t the weather I asked for! Reassessing our weekend plans over a hot coffee, and dreaming of a winter sun escape! ☀️ what are your favourite things to do on dismal winter days?
  • Just a girl who never leaves her sofa 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve loved chatting to you guys in my DMs today about gratitude, small goals and working through bad days. I really think it’s so important that we host open and honest discussions about the less insta-friendly side of life, and chatting to you guys today has really helped improve my mood so thank you! My DMs are always open to anyone who needs a chat 🧡 in the meantime my wild Friday night plans include a long bubble bath and a bowl of slow cooker taco soup! What are you up to tonight?
  • Can I confess something to you guys? This week has been really hard. I’m still feeling terrible, my stomach is incredibly sore, my whole body aches and I’ve had unshiftable brain fog for going on a month now. And honestly, it’s made my mood really low, I’ve been fed up, frustrated and honestly just a bit sad. Fed up about another day feeling unwell, frustrated about being unable to do anything and sad because I feel like I’m missing out on my own life. And when all these things combine I have 3 very clear warning signs that I’m getting low, I start shopping like a mad woman, I stop replying to messages from friends and snap at Connor for no real reason. I don’t really have an answer to this but I thought I’d share the things I’m doing to try and improve my mood:
1. Less time online. You’ll notice I’ve been posting less, engaging less and just generally spending time away from my phone/laptop. Right now I feel like I need distance from perfect instagrams and the people who can do what they like when they like. 📱
2. Time on the mat. My body is definitely not up for yoga right now, but it is here for 10 minutes in the morning and evening of simple stretches and focused Pranayama. This helps me feel calmer, more in tune with my body and more present. 🧘‍♀️ 3. Smaller, more frequent meals. I always feel better when my energy levels aren’t peaking and troughing, so I’ve been trying to regulate my mealtimes a bit. I can have rice now so I’ve been making a veggie packed egg fried rice dish to snack on in the afternoons and just that little bit of carbohydrate is really helping. 🍚
All of this to say, life’s not all perfect Instagram squares, and it’s okay if what you need isn’t more time online 🧡 #somenotnone
  • Happy Valentines you beautiful people you ❤️ I know Valentines is a corporate money grabbing creation yada yada yada but hey, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with spending some time celebrating the people and things that you love! 💕 Since I firmly believe the most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves, it’s the perfect time to put a little bit of love and appreciation into that relationship! Take some time today to think of all the reasons you should definitely love yourself a little more! I’m snuggled up in pjs and am 100% makeup free, but here’s a selfie I took back in January that I never thought I’d post to IG, because it doesn’t ‘fit the theme’ and is ‘totally grainy’ but whatever I looked cute dammit, so here’s me appreciating my cuteness for V-Day 🤷🏻‍♀️😂💘
  • Celebrating Valentines is cool and all, but I always think the 14th is a good excuse for a little self-care. Who says you can’t buy chocolate or flowers for yourself? But more importantly, take the time to check in with your own body and your own needs, and honour those. What would benefit you today? Whether it’s an early night, a long soak in a hot bath, a little yoga practice or some mindful breathing, I encourage you to put yourself at the top of your priority list today ✨🌿
  • I’m trying to invite more slow into my life right now, and one of the main ways I’ve been doing that is by single tasking. I feel like we’re constantly under pressure to be doing everything at once, and actually, I get a lot more gratification and happiness from giving my whole focus to one task. So this week is all about one task at a time, whether that’s in work, home chores or simply drinking my morning cup of tea on the balcony. Less screen time, less clutter and less busy, please ✨
  • Who else has needed a LOT of coffee to get through today 🙋🏻‍♀️ after a particularly sleepless night with stomach pain last night coffee has been the word of the day. Thankfully, I’ve found a french vanilla ground coffee that seems to have tricked my body into accepting black coffee, so there’s hope for me on this diet yet! How’s your Monday been? ☕️
  • Happy Monday! I’m all about setting small goals at the moment, so here are mine for this week:
1. Sort out the top shelf of my wardrobe. It’s currently a jumble of shoes and their boxes with no organisation at all, so I’d like to get this sorted this week 👠
2. Stretch every day 🧘‍♀️ I’ve not been well enough for exercise, but I’m struggling with achey limbs, so I’d like to make time for a little stretch every day this week 🙌🏻
3. Make a list of all the jobs that need doing round the flat. When we moved in we kinda did 98% of the job, there’s a few more finishing touches needed. A few licks of paint, some pictures to hang and I’m still missing a stretch of skirting board in my bathroom, so I want to make a master to do list so that we can coordinate getting everything done this month! 💪🏻
4. Read more books! My brain has been too foggy for reading but I picked up a few easy reads to try and get back into reading this week! 📖
What are your mini goals for the week?
