This blog post should really be titled ‘Don’t Wear Anything in Ibiza Cause It’s Too Effing Hot’ but WordPress tells me that’s not particularly SEO Friendly so there we go. Our three days in Ibiza involved many outfit changes (because hello, we’re bloggers, all about the outfit photos), temperatures that never dropped below 30 degrees Celsius, and a hell of a lot of sweat. But I wanted to share what I wore in case you’ve got a beach holiday coming up and don’t know what to pack, or your just nosy like me!
BY THE POOL.
Ah the one piece! This darling swimsuit from F&F is my first foray into one pieces since I was about eight and wearing a navy blue speedo swimsuit, and it’s certainly an improvement on that! I skipped over my bikini for this number, since I was feeling a little liney after half a day’s travel and this is a little more covering! I love the bold palm print, and the cute crochet cleavage detail, this swimsuit garnered a lot of attention and rightly so, it’s gorgeous. It’s also about £10 so if it makes it into your weekly shop it won’t break the bank!
I picked up the hat last minute on ASOS (thank you ASOS Premier) and I’m so glad I did! I’m one of those pasty folk that only has to look at a good weather forecast to burn, so a sunhat is an absolute must. This one is basically the sunhat of Instagram dreams, I think nearly everyone took photos with it at some point on the trip! It was £18 on ASOS (and it’s now on sale!) and worth every penny!
CASUAL EVENING PLANS.
We headed out for an early dinner and wonder around town on the first night, before heading back to the hotel to drink wine in the garden. It was a pretty casual evening so I didn’t want to go all out, but I wanted to look nice! Insert this little scuba-fabric dress from Zara, in a bold 60’s floral print and a pretty v neck cut. I love the billowing sleeves, this dress isn’t too form fitting so it didn’t make me overheat, and I loved the light blue shade. I picked this up in the sale so it isn’t online now but you might still be able to grab it in store!
The sandals were new this season from a brand called Call It Spring on ASOS. I loved the cute pom pom detailing and although they were a pain to do up, I think they looked super cute! They were pretty comfy too despite being brand new, they didn’t need wearing in at all!
I packed my Michael Kors Maxine Saddle Bag for the trip and it turned out to be the perfect size for my wallet, phone, spare camera bits + a bottle of water! Great for evenings out!
EXPLORING THE OLD TOWN.
At this point it was over 35 degrees and I’d given up any semblance of looking good. My hair had to be braided off my face since it was just growing in the humidity and sticking to my sweaty neck – nice, and my outfit choice was based off ‘what will touch my body the least’. This cute little smock style dress was a last minute order from Glamorous via ASOS and I’m so glad I picked it up! I loved the cute floral print and the cut out detail on the back, and it came in the Tall section too so it didn’t feel too short on my long legs!
A FANCY EVENING MEAL.
We wanted our last night to be special so we got dressed up to hit gorgeous Italian restaurant Can Domingo. Opting for a long sleeved dress was a risk, but since it was exclusively worn in an air conditioned car, and then in the restaurant garden after the sun set it worked out okay! I love the ruffles and bell sleeve details on this dress, it was another Zara sale find and I’m so glad I picked it up!
Luckily my new prescription sunglasses arrived just in time for the trip, since I did a lot of driving! These are the Ray-Ban Erika’s in tortoiseshell and I’m obsessed. The frames are super light so you barely feel them on your face, and they’re pretty non offensive so they go with everything!
An early start on another hot day, this time I went for a loose fitting, lightweight maxi dress I’ve had in my wardrobe 3 or 4 years now. I love the bold summery pattern, and the waist tie that makes it a little more flattering. The fabric is incredibly lightweight, so wearing this feels like you’re barely wearing clothes at all!
