A September To Do List

September is here and I couldn’t be more thrilled. September has always been one of my favourite months, it brings the beginning of autumn and all the joys of a season change, it’s got that fresh start, back-to-school feel, and it tends to be a very productive month for me. I love the change in the air that September brings, it always feels full of hope and promise to me. With all that in mind, I’ve put together a September To Do list to really make the most of everything September has to offer!

Drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte! Arguably the most exciting thing about September is the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and all the basic bitch vibes that come with it. I’m looking forward to drinking mine with friends, whilst dressed in autumnal knits and sporting a leafy manicure because I’m as basic as they come.

Go pumpkin picking! Following a pumpkin theme, I really want to experiment with some pumpkin recipes this year, and our local pick your own farm is only a week off having it’s first round of pumpkins ready. I’m thinking homemade pumpkin pie, and hot pumpkin soups!

Have a girls night in. I have one of these in the diary for midway through the month and I’m so excited for it. We’re going to drink wine, watch movies, gossip and do face masks. What more could you want for an early autumn evening.

Sign up for the Hunting For Autumn newsletter. A bit of cheeky self promotion here but if you haven’t yet, make sure you sign up for my newsletter project, Hunting For Autumn! It’s a monthly dose of Autumnal inspiration, and the first issue will be flying into inboxes next week! Sign up here, or using the form at the bottom of this post!

Have an autumn picnic. Before it gets too cold, pack up blankets, sandwiches, hot soup in flasks and your favourite book, head out into the wilderness for an afternoon picnic in the autumn light. Can you imagine a dreamier way to spend a September Saturday?

Treat yourself to some new autumnal pyjamas. What better excuse for new pjs than the approach of autumn. You need to be prepared for all the cosy nights in to come, so get ordering some new cosy loungewear! I’ve got my eye on this set which look ridiculously comfy, and I may have already ordered these!

Decorate for fall. Now I’m not talking repainting walls in burnt oranges (although…), but I’m a big fan of cosying up the home for autumn. I’m looking forward to hitting up Homesense next week for some autumn inspired trinkets (faux foliage, little pumpkins, cosy throws), and I’ll be pulling out the blankets and cinnamon scented candles this weekend! I’m hoping to invest in a few more lamps too, to give the flat a more cosy low lit vibe in the evenings.

Watch the sunset. September brings the most beautiful sunsets, I’m looking forward to an evening down on the beach with a cup of hot chocolate, watching the sun dip below the sea.

Set yourself some end of year goals. September is a great opportunity to set yourself some goals for the rest of the year. What do you want to say you achieved looking back on 2018? Maybe there’s a project you want to devote more time to, a goal to hit at work, or a hobby you’d like to indulge in. Set yourself some measurable, attainable goals this month.

There we go, some things to kick off your September to do list!

What are you looking forward to this month?
