Rounding up my beauty favourites this month has been fairly straightforward, since I’ve pretty much been using the same products all month. Instead of rambling on about my whole makeup routine, I thought I’d pick out the five standout products, which happen to be two skincare bits and three makeup pieces! Don’t you just love it when things are simple…
LUSH LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL CLEANSER: I’ve used this cleanser for years so if you want to skip over this one I’ll let you off. At the beginning of the month my skin was a little bumpier than usual around my chin, so I pulled this out and have been using it every other day since. I love how gentle it is, and yet it’s the most effective scrub I’ve tried. It smells delicious and you’d be forgiven for wanting to eat it rather than slather it on your face.
LUSH BUNNY MOON FACE MASK: Two Lush picks in one post, I know, I know, but this mask has saved my skin this month! It’s full of ingredients that aim to calm the skin, and I find that if I use this when I’ve got one of those annoying spots that sits under the skin, it’ll draw it out by the morning so I can be shot of it. It’s got a pretty non offensive smell and a somewhat unique texture, and I’ll admit to being pleased there are finally some Lush face masks that don’t have to be kept in the fridge!
MAC MMMMM LIPSTICK*: Connor picked this up for me back at the beginning of the month, it was a new release as part of the MAC x Nicki Minaj collection of 24 nude toned lipsticks. Of them all this one jumped out at me the most, it’s a true dusky pink, a little ‘duskier’ than anything else in my collection. It’s the perfect autumn nude for my skin tone, a little dark but easy to wear. It’s an Amplified Creme formula, so the colour pay off is pretty intense, but it’s still creamy and comfortable to wear. I haven’t gotten excited by a MAC lipstick in a while but I love this one!
BOBBI BROWN LONG-WEAR CREAM EYESHADOW STICK IN GOLDEN PINK*: Longest name ever! I’ve heard lots of people talk about these eyeshadow sticks but I’d never tried one myself. I got a travel size of the shade Golden Pink in a gift set last month and I finally understand the hype. I love these for simple makeup days, I swipe it over my lids, use my Beauty Blender to press it in and it’s an easy put together eye look! It’s a pretty golden shimmery champagne shade that’s super flattering for everyday!
NARS ORGASM BLUSH*: I’ve always had a NARS Orgasm Blush in my collection, but until last month the only one I had was part of the NARSISSIST Palette, which I’ll admit to not reaching for often enough! Recently a friend passed on a new pan from the special release NARS did where they released a bumper sized version and I’ve fallen in love with the shade all over again. It’s such an easy everyday pick, it brightens up the cheeks and has a sheen so you can skip over highlight if you’re in a hurry. The wear time of NARS blushes is second to none, making this a total staple in my makeup collection.
