Somehow, we’re now in November, and 2019 is drawing to a close. I always feel a sense of unease at this time of year, it feels a little like I’m running out of time to achieve my goals, and it can be a little disheartening. This year however, I’m trying to approach the end of the year with a more positive attitude, and I’ve been trying to work with smaller, more specific goals rather than big vague goals. With that in mind, here are some things to add to your to do list to help tie up 2019 with a sense of accomplishment.
Schedule overdue catch ups.
There’s always one person who due to conflicting schedules and the chaotic nature of life, you’re well overdue a catch up with. Maybe you’ve gone months without good quality time together, because life just got in the way. Take matters into your own hands and get a date in the diary before the chaos of the holiday season, and spend some time together.
Declutter before the holiday season.
Christmas is often a chaotic time to say the least. Perhaps you’re expecting an influx of visitors, gifts, or maybe you know you’re not going to have much time to devote to chores over the festive period. Block out some time this month to have a proper declutter, organise and clean through, so you head into Christmas feeling somewhat organised.
Carve out time for your passion project.
Okay, maybe you’ve failed on some of your big goals for the year so far, but hope is not lost. There’s still the best part of two months of the year left, and you can definitely find even a small amount of time to work towards them. Whether your goal was to take more photos, work on your side hustle, up your instagram game or start writing a novel, schedule some non negotiable time in your calendar to get cracking.
Make a small change to improve your health.
Maybe you wanted to find more time for exercise in your week, or you wanted to start meditating, or maybe you just wanted to drink a little more water every day. It takes around a month to build a habit, so make a small positive change to help improve your health.
What do you want to do before the year is up?
