I’ve never been one for lofty, long term goals, I’m more of a lots-of-little-changes kinda gal. I like the satisfaction of making a little change that makes my life better, and I’m always on the look out for new little tasks to turn into habits.
I thought I’d share my current list of little changes with you guys, so you can keep me accountable and you never know, you might fancy trying some too.
Journaling is something I’ve been experimenting with over the last month or so. It’s a great way to practise mindfulness, work out problems, and I always feel calmer & happier when I find the time for it. With that in mind, I want to make it a daily habit to help keep me centred, present and mindful.
Start the day with a juice.
Whilst on treatment with a restricted diet, I started to get bored with breakfast. Basically all I was able to eat is eggs and there’s only so many eggs you can eat. I pinched my mum’s old juicer and since then have been experimenting with making a fresh juice for breakfast. I’ve been really enjoying celery and orange juice, and it’s a great easy way to sneak a few extra supplements into a meal, simply mix them in to the juice! I find that two stalks of celery, an orange and half a cup of berries juiced up with my evening primrose oil, biocidin and vitamin b complex is the perfect balance between tasty, healthy, and filling. I also feel more awake after I drink this, it’s filling the spot of my morning coffee nicely.
Outside, every day.
Here’s hoping the weather gets better this month, but regardless, I’ve fallen out of my daily 15 minute walk routine. Even when the weather is less than ideal, I always feel better for making it out of the house every day. So even if it’s fifteen minutes sat out on the balcony, I want to make outside time a daily habit again.
Have a meaningful connection every day.
It’s easy to go through the day communicating but not really connecting. We like our friends posts on the gram, we send gifs in WhatsApp chats, and we get home so tired after a long day at work that we never make it past lighthearted every day chatter. I want to make more of an effort to have a meaningful conversation with someone every day. Whether that’s in real life, on the phone or even in the instagram comments, connecting every day is so important.
So there you have it, 4 easy habits to try and incorporate into your daily routine this month.
