I’ve been repping the white sheets for a while now and honestly, it’s a game changer. Not least because it makes for a great photo background (and let’s be real here, it’s the best background), but for so many other reasons. I’m a white bedding convert and I think after you hear me out, you might be too.
A Calmer Space.
Above everything, I want my bedroom to be a calm, peaceful space. It’s a place to relax, shut off after a busy day, and sleep deeply. Beds are big, imposing pieces of furniture, and usually the focal point of the room, so covering it in pure white bedding is a great way to make the space less cluttered.
That Hotel Bed Feel.
Now stick with me on this one, because maybe it’s just me, but there’s something about crisp white sheets that makes me feel like I’m sinking into a hotel bed. I get a better night’s sleep in crisp white sheets, I’m more inclined to make my bed in the morning, and it looks oh so inviting come bedtime.
It’s Easier To Switch Up Your Colour Palette.
Once you commit to coloured or patterned bedding, you’re kinda stuck with it. With white bedding you can switch up throw’s, cushions, accessories in the room to shake up your whole colour palette. Right now our bedroom is all navy blue and baby pink accents, and I’m hoping to add in some orange pops heading in to spring!
It’s Easier To Mix and Match.
When all your bedding is white, it doesn’t matter which sheets you pair with which pillowcases, it all matches. Makes doing the laundry so much easier.
It Can Brighten Up A Room.
Our bedroom gets the early morning light but after about 10am – nothing. Having a big white canvas in the middle of the room reflects what literal natural light we do get, and makes the whole thing brighter! I put some old baby pink sheets on the bed a few weeks back and couldn’t believe the difference in light!
It’s SO Much Easier To Keep Clean.
Perhaps the very best thing about white sheets? A hot wash with a shot of bleach and they look like new! If, like me, you’re constantly splashing your morning coffee on the sheets, or accidentally losing half the ketchup from your Sunday morning buttie, trust me, this will change your life.
So, have I convinced you?
