I’ve not been buying a TON of beauty bits over the last six months, which I partly blame on the lack of exciting high street launches recently. Where barely a week would pass without a beauty purchase previously, I now tend to go a few months and then splurge on a few new high-end beauty buys. The last month has been one of those, and I’ve got a little luxe beauty haul I thought I’d share with you!
There’s been some serious Space NK hauling this month, mostly enabled by my gal Lauren and a nice discount code. First in the basket was a backup of my beloved IGK Thirsty Gal Spray, I use this every time I wash my hair as my detangler of choice. It’s full of coconut milk goodness and leaves my colour treated hair silky smooth. I already have a can of this on the go but as you can’t see how much you have left at any point, I wanted to have a backup on hand. I also needed a more travel- friendly dry shampoo to keep in my go bag, so I picked up a mini can of IGK First Class, a charcoal based dry shampoo. I haven’t tried this one but since I love Jet Lag and Direct Flight, I’m sure I’ll love this too!
Speaking of IGK, I also inherited a tube of IGK Low Key Scalp Scrub from Lauren, who just couldn’t get on with it. I’m excited to give this a go, I’ve been looking for a similar product to try so fingers crossed I’ll be more of a fan of this than Lauren was!
Lauren’s been nagging me to try Herbivore for ages, so I also picked up their Blue Clay Detoxifying Treatment Mask. I’ve heard good things about this and thought it would be a good Sunday-Night-In-The-Bath mask. The ingredients list looks great, lots of anti-inflammatory qualities, so hopefully this will be a good one to have on hand for any hormonal breakouts.
Lastly from Space NK, I’ve been making googly eyes at the Becca Sunlit Bronzer in Bali Sands since it was released, so I finally picked that up. I love the gentle sheen in this, I feel like it’ll be easy to build up or stay light with, and it just gives the skin a good glow. I’ll let you know how I get on with this!
My girl Kelly was back in the US last month and very kindly offered to bring me back a few bits from Sephora – what a doll. I’ve been trying to hunt down a full size DryBar Lemon Drop Hair Brush for months now, I have the mini one and I love it SO much, but the full size has been out of stock for ages. It’s my favourite hair brush, works on wet and dry hair, and the widely spaced bristles are great for curly, frizz prone hair.
She also grabbed the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask which I’ve been wanting to try since I picked up the Lip Sleeping Mask. It’s described as a ‘moisture recharging gel’ and honestly that’s exactly what my skin needs right now. Will report back!
Lastly from Sephora, I’m GUTTED that John Lewis will no longer be stocking Marc Jacobs, especially since I’d already fallen in love with the Twinkle Pop Stick Eyeshadow in Three Shakes. Luckily, good ol’ Kelly picked this up for me too, and honestly I’m already obsessed. It’s a gorgeous creamy formula and so easy to just wash over the lid and even under the lashline for a simple smokey look.
And finally, I FINALLY tracked down the NARS Afterglow Lip Balm after weeks of searching, and popping into the Covent Garden Boutique every week. Luckily, it was worth the effort, it’s the perfect everyday lip, a sheer pinky shade that isn’t too glossy but is super comfortable on the lips.
I think it’s safe to say I don’t need to do anymore beauty buying for a while now!
