A Summer 2018 To Do List

It’s officially the start of the summer, the kids have broken up from school, there’s an undeniable warmth in the air and we have a fleet of summer weekends left to fill with lovely things. I’m all about making the most of the weekends right now, so here’s my list of my summer bucket list activities, in case you’re looking for a little weekend inspiration!

Organise a summer picnic. Dreamy summer days were basically made for lounging outside with snacks! Knock up a quinoa salad, your favourite sarnies or a big dish of pasta salad, throw in a sharing bar of chocolate, a punnet of strawberries and a chilled bottle of wine or sparkling elderflower! Throw a blanket and your favourite book in the car and drive out to a quiet field, overcliff, or beach spot!

Try a new coffee shop. I have a whole collection of Instagram of saved coffee shops up and down the country, and one of our favourite weekend activities is hunting out the perfect flat white.

Go strawberry picking! Tis the season for fresh berries. Our local Pick Your Own farm is full of fresh sweet strawberries, and I’m excited to go pick some this weekend!

Visit a botanical garden. I love me a botanical garden! I have a few on my to visit list, but I’m hoping that Summer 2018 brings a return visit to Kew Gardens for me, it’s the ultimate botanical garden!

Spend a whole day lounging on the beach. Pack a book, suncream and a giant bottle of water. Spend a whole day on a quiet beach reading, snoozing and enjoying the sun.

Make s’mores. I’m looking forward to summer nights spent on the balcony with friends, drinking wine and making smores! You can’t beat that chocolate-y, marshmallow-y goodness!

Watch the sunrise. You can’t beat a summer sunrise. I’m planning to sneak out of the house early and watch the sunrise from our favourite cliffside spot! Fingers crossed I’m watching it with a coffee in my hand!

Learn something new. There’s so much I want to learn, and seemingly not enough time to do it. From teaching myself about crystal healing from books and online, to taking a flower arranging workshop, to enrolling in a video editing course from September.

So that’s my Summer 2018 to do list so far – I’d love to know what’s on yours!
