Winter Glow Makeup Staples

With winter on the horizon I’m all about adding a bit more glow into my somewhat lacklustre skin. This time of year I want my skin to look bright, healthy + like I’ve gotten enough sleep, not like I’m overworked and under-rested! Luckily, I have a go-to winter glow makeup look to keep me looking fresh faced even in the cold, sunless, winter months.

I start my makeup everyday with the Glossier Priming Moisturiserfor a boost of hydration before going in with my Becca Backlight Priming Filter, a primer that packs a serious golden goddess punch. Then, I’ve been loving using the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation, which doesn’t offer a whole lot in terms of coverage, but makes up for it in glow. It’s enough to even out my skin and give it a bright, healthy glow. I also love using the YSL Touche Eclat for a little more glow round the eye area.

I think I use bronzer more in the summer than the winter, all about that faux glow, and I always come back to the NARS Laguna Bronzer. It’s not muddy, shimmery or orange, it just gives a natural bronze to the skin that adds a little definition too. I feel a little bad for mentioning the MAC MSF in Stereo Rose since it’s not part of their permanent collection, but I use this blush so much this time of year. It’s the perfect sheeny, bronzey pink that adds so much glow and light to the cheeks. Next time it’s released I’d highly recommend picking it up, but in the meantime I find that the Benefit Rockateur Blush and Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso both do similar jobs.

For eyes I like to stick with warm bronzey shades. I’m loving the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette right now, but for something a little bit more wearable day to day, I’ve been reaching for the NARS Long Hot Summer Palette, which is home to a few day time bronzey shades.

As for lips I’ve been keeping things fairly neutral, but topping whatever colour I go for with a little of the Glossier Balm Dot Com. It’s not a particularly glossy balm but it keeps things hydrated and my lips looking soft and plump!
