3 Autumn Jackets I’m Loving

Last month I had a massive wardrobe clear out, getting rid of the pieces I never wore or that had seen better days, and making a list of any gaps in my wardrobe, bits to pick up. One thing I was seriously lacking were jackets, I had hoodies and winter coats, but I was lacking in jackets for those days when I need a little more than a jumper but less than a full winter parka. SO, a little shopping spree ensued and I thought I’d share my perfect autumn jackets.

The first jacket I picked up was from Reserved, I visited the brand new Oxford Street Store on the launch day and this was one of the first things I picked up. It’s a deep green suede jacket, with some subtle silver hardware. It’s not cropped, but it’s definitely on the shorter side, it sits just on the top of hips, I love that the sleeves are long and it’s not lined so it’s not too toasty. It’s perfect for draping over tees, but works equally well on colder days with a jumper and scarf layered. I don’t have anything this colour, but it pairs really well with the light pinks, greys and deep burgundy pieces in my wardrobe. It’s a great autumnal piece and it was a steal at £35.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect trench coat for YEARS, but never managed to find anything. Everything was either too short, not quite the right shade, or too busy. I just wanted a simple camel trench coat that was long enough for my 5’10 body + a really simple, classic design. A late night browsing sesh on ASOS (good ol’ ASOS) and I found this bad boy, the classic trench coat from the Tall section, and it was love. The sizing is pretty generous, I went with a 12 but could have easily gotten the ten (I kept the larger size so I can wear it over thicker jumpers as it gets colder). I feel like a good trench coat is an easy way to make an outfit look a little smarter, and this coat goes with everything from jeans and a tee to dresses and heels. I love the simple design, I feel like this is a coat I will use and love for years!

The one jacket for autumn I actually already had, my dream leather jacket! I love a leather jacket for autumn, I feel like the texture of leather really lends itself to Fall, and it’s one of those pieces you’ll own for years and years and it’ll go with everything. Mine is from Coach, I loved the simple design and minimal hardware, and I can’t wait to wear this over some of my summery dresses and boots during the transitional weeks.
