June Favourites + Highlights!

June has been my busiest month in a long time, it’s the first month where I’ve felt a bit more normal (if still lacking in energy) since all my surgeries. I thought to go along with my monthly favourites video (which you can find on my YouTube Channel or at the end of this post) I’d round up some of the highlights for you!

My dad has been away for a lot of June, so I have spent a lot of time hanging out with my mum so that she wasn’t alone all the time! The first weekend of June we hung out in Winchester together, having a lazy lunch date and an explore of the shops (cough, The White Company). We went to the opening of new Bournemouth restaurant No34 together, which was a great night out (and I made some new friends too!). We’ve had a few breakfast dates throughout the month, and then last week we spent three days at the Bedruthan Spa Hotel in Cornwall together and it was utter bliss. Three days of drinking cocktails in the sunshine, reading and dipping into the pool. I had the most heavenly ayurvedic massage and facial, which was honestly exactly what I needed after the year I’ve had!

Connor and I had a few fun days out, we spent a day shopping at Westfield at the beginning of the month which was fun – we both needed a few new bits for our wardrobes, so it was nice to spend a day together picking bits out and trying things on! We also spent a weekend in Cornwall with Travelodge which you can read all about here, which was so much fun. We had no plans and no agenda, we just had a slow weekend together, walking along the coast and bumbling around towns, with lots of coffee breaks in between! Con was away for the last week of June, so it was nice to spend some quality time together before he went away!

Obviously a big highlight for June was getting settled into the new flat! It’s still a work in progress (don’t ask to see my office yet, it’s like an obstacle course of boxes) but it’s really feeling like home now! I honestly love it so much and can’t wait to get the finishing touches done so I can give you guys a full tour with before and after shots from the renovation!

I also managed to squeeze a day in London into the mix this month, it was so nice to catch up with my ladies Tash and Katy, and spend an afternoon sharing pizza and babbling with Lauren. I miss London a lot but being able to have these days in my city certainly helps. I went to the Oliver Bonas press day, ate delicious pizza at Firezza, and grabbed an iced tea at Yumchaa. Living that good life, you know!

We spent a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Bournemouth Food + Drink Festival this month, and had such a fantastic time. The sun was shining, there was a live band on stage, and we ate delicious street food, washed down with Pimms and beer, and cooled off with a dip in the sea after! For me the highlight was the garlic and rosemary fries, and the bolognese arancini balls! A very typical British Summertime afternoon, but so much fun!

The good weather has also leant itself to a few sunny afternoons down the beach with the dog in the sunshine, which I’m all for! Poor Finn was too hot in his fur coat in the 30+ heat, so loved paddling in the sea (even if he was scared of the waves!). I’ve really appreciated living back in Bournemouth this month, the weather really brings out the best of the town!

So those are my highlights of June! Make sure you check out my monthly favourites video below, and leave me a comment letting me know what your highlights and favourites have been this month!

Roll on July!
