A Little Life Update

Hey guys, long time no catch up.

Things have been pretty crazy around these parts lately, so I figured it was about time I updated you all on life and the goings on in my little world.

Saying goodbye to London

We officially no longer live in London, we’ve been back in Bournemouth for three weeks now and it’s starting to sink in. Mind you – I’ve been up to London twice since then, so it’s not been a clean break. I’d like to say I’ve been making the most of being home, but other circumstances have meant that I’ve barely had a second to myself since we’ve been here.

The hardest part of being home has been saying no to events back in London! I’ve got serious FOMO, but I’m still going to as many as I can! I’ll be trying to pop up at least every other week for the forseeable!

No complaints though, because being home means being reunited with my furbags and they’re the best thing ever! <3

Health

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen that I’ve been struggling with some health issues over the last few months. My general health has been pretty poor for the last six months or so, but over the end of the summer I was really struggling with dizziness, nausea and exhaustion. I’ve been having a lot of tests done at my GP & the hospital, but I’ve got to have a few more invasive tests at the end of the month that involve having a general anaesthetic, and I’m absolutely terrified. I’m 99% sure that they’ll be able to provide an answer for my problems, but I really hate medical stuff, and I’ve never had an anaesthetic before so I’m pretty nervous. Fingers crossed though, it’ll be the last big step to identifying the problem, and then I can work on getting better!

In the meantime, it means I’ve been trying to take it easy, and I’ve been having a little more time off than I’d usually have. It sucks feeling so run down and exhausted all the time! But if I’m a little quite on social, or if I disappear here for a few days – that’s why!

Work

Because of all the health stuff I’ve had going on recently, I reduced the number of freelance projects I was taking on quite dramatically. I’m still working with a handful of creative coaching clients, and working with a few people on social media plans & photography stuff, and I’m really loving it. If you want to see more of what I do, check out my website here!

My parents have been shorthanded at work recently, so I’ve set up my desk in one of their empty offices, so I can help out when they need it, but also work on my own stuff in peace. I find having somewhere to get up and go to in the morning really helps with my productivity, and after spending the last few years working alone from home, it’s nice to have people around!

House to Home

Everything is a little more up in the air with our housing situation at the moment. We’ve had a few false starts with houses and our plan moving forward isn’t as clear as we first thought. For now we’re living with my parents whilst we hold out for the perfect place, but I’m super excited that we’re going to be house sitting for six weeks over Christmas for some friends. They’ve got a gorgeous house with three beautiful bengal cats, and I’m so looking forward to having our own space again for a while!

Blogging & Vlogging

The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed that things have changed around these parts recently, not only have I got a brand spanking new blog design going on, I’ve also moved over to WordPress FINALLY. So far I’m really enjoying it, things aren’t quite done yet, and I’ve still got a lot of post reformatting to do, but I’m so pleased with how things are looking!

I’m also taking a bit of a more casual approach to the content I’m putting out. I’m not working as far in advance anymore, in fact my posts are never scheduled more than a day or two ahead of time anymore! I’m also just kind of creating content off the back of things I’m doing and loving at the time, it feels more natural to me, and hopefully you guys are enjoying it! I’m also putting 2-3 posts a week up on Wild Imagination, so make sure you check out over there too!

As far as YouTube goes, it’s kind of the thing that’s fallen by the wayside whilst things have been hectic the last few months. I’m hoping to ease myself back into it over the next few weeks, I’ve got a few vlogs already filmed, and a list of sit down videos I want to film, so I’m hoping to get something live next week! YouTube is such a massive time commitment and because my working hours have taken a cut, something had to go and unfortunately it was this! I LOVE making YouTube videos though, so these will be back!

I think that’s probably enough rambling for now! Please let me know what you think in the comments of the blog redesign, and let me know if there’s any posts you’d like to see over the next month though! I’ve got super into planning Christmassy blog posts too, which will be coming your way soon!

As always, thanks for your love + support! x
