Reading back over my post from Friday, a Little Life Update, I became aware it wasn’t quite the bright-and-bubbly attitude I like to try and adopt in my day to day life. In fact, I’m aware that I haven’t really been adopting that attitude at all in my daily life recently, instead I’ve just been feeling quite overwhelmed.
With that in mind, I thought maybe it would be a good idea to bring back the Happy Things post, a round up of lovely things from the week. That way, I can make sure it’s the good bits I’m remembering. Because there are good bits, they just sometimes get a bit squashed by the not so good stuff.
- Productive Mondays! Now that I’ve got an office to go to, I’m finding that generally speaking, I’m much more productive. And a productive Monday tends to set me up for a good week! I tend to schedule a lot of little tasks for a Monday, since my attention span seems to be a little shorter then, so I always feel good when I’ve ticked a lot of little tasks off over one or two big things.
- Monday evening bubbles! I went to visit a family friend on Monday evening to discuss house sitting for her in December, and we cracked open a bottle of Prosecco! There was something quite decadently luxurious about popping the bubbles on a Monday night!
- & Other Stories. I popped into & Other Stories to pick up a new hand cream for my desk (I love their giant hand creams with pumps!) and there’s something just wonderful about that store. It just appeals to me visually on so many levels. I wish all stores were like it! I left with a really long wishlist, at least Christmas is around the corner!

- #CleanUpTheCommute. On Tuesday I was invited to Paperchase on Tottenham Court Road to celebrate the launch of their new collection in collaboration with the London Evening Standard. It was a great evening with prosecco, crafting, and cakes shaped like newspapers! The collection is now live on the Paperchase website, a beautifully simple selection of stationery made from recycled newspapers.
- Since I was in London, it would have been rude not to nip into my favourite pizza place, right? Connor & I nipped into Franco Manca after our meetings in the city on Tuesday and indulged in our favourite carby treat. The perfect midweek treat!
- There’s been a lot of good food this week! On Wednesday Connor and I tried out the brand new Yo Sushi in Bournemouth. The food was awesome, and it was nice to get out and have a chat after a stressful day of hospital appointments.
- Since Connor and I are both hectically busy at work right now & working weekends, we’ve been trying to make sure we carve out time in the week to spend together, so Friday morning we had a pre work coffee date at Starbucks. We drank coffee, ate croissants and had a chat about work. One of the things I love about our relationship is how easily we can talk about our work with each other.
- On Friday evening I headed to Lush in Bournemouth to celebrate their reopening! It was awesome to get a sneak peak at the new store ahead of it’s launch yesterday, and spend time with some awesome Bournemouth bloggers! I had cocktails inspired by bath bombs, and I made a bubble bar!
- I spent most of yesterday with my little sister, we visited a Uni Open Day, had lunch, and a little wander around the shops too. I’ve not seen much of her over the last four years, so living with her now is so lovely!
- I finally found the perfect coatigan! Keep your eyes peeled for a post soon!
Today I’m going to have a lazy morning, snap some blog photos, read a book, and then this afternoon I’m going for lunch with a friend and her little boy who I just adore! Not a bad way to spend a Sunday! Hope you are all having a wonderful week!
