How’s everyone’s lockdown going? For me, things haven’t really changed, I was stuck at home with chronic illness recovering from surgery before lockdown, so it’s all much of the same – with less Starbucks. Anyway, let’s not dwell on the dreaded C-word, instead, I wanted to share a few things making my lockdown a lil better, the things I’m loving right now! (Some links are affiliate!)
I converted to Ugg slippers last year and they changed my life (slight exaggeration but you’re with me), they’re SO cosy and comfy, I’d never really been a slipper fan before but these converted me. At the moment though, I’ve been rocking the cashmere socks in the day. As someone who can’t sit still at their desk, I’m constantly tucking my legs up on the chair, these are a little more practical, less bulky than slippers, and you don’t have to take them off when you crawl into bed for a nap either. I have a few pairs but my favourites are from The White Company.
Lululemon align pants.
Yes I know, these are hideously expensive. But I was convinced they were worth it BEFORE lockdown, so now I’m even more certain. For lounging about day to day there’s nothing better, smart enough for running errands, appropriate for your yoga break or one walk a day, comfy when you’ve accidentally eaten your whole stockpile, buttery smooth and they’ve got one of those great big stomach smoothing panels too. They’re my comfiest item of clothing and arguably the first thing I’d grab in a fire. Okay okay, I’ll stop now but you get the message, worth the splurge. (PS, I’m 5″10 and I wear the 28″ leg)
Patchology Chill Mode Eye Masks.
I’m a fan of eye masks all the time, they’re the perfect pick me up, or soothing wind down after a long day. I’ve already used an entire pack of the Chill Mode ones from Patchology since lockdown started, because I DEFINITELY need more chill. Infused with CBD oil, these are the ultimate cooling, soothing, calming mask, and I especially love them for when the hayfever has kicked in!
I’m very lucky to receive the occasional parcel from Dermalogica with goodies to try, and one of the most recent parcels included their new Invisible Defense SPF 50 to try. It’s pretty rare to get an SPF 50 that soaks in easily and doesn’t leave a white cast, and this does that whilst also being nourishing and hydrating on the skin. It’s definitely become a staple for sunny days on the balcony!
I know everyone and their mother is obsessed with Animal Crossing right now, but it’s for a good reason. It’s the perfect wholesome, happy escapist game for these strange times, and hey, you can’t go out IRL but you can run around your island! I’ve been enjoying curating my home and island, and hosting my pals so it feels like we’re together, even when we’re miles apart. Super glad Bunny Day is over mind.
& Other Stories Hand Cream.
All this hand washing and sanitizing is wreaking havoc on my skin, but luckily I seem to have a hand cream on every sideboard, in every drawer and in every pocket. My favourites are the ones from & Other Stories, they come in a range of delicious scents, and sink in quick without leaving things greasy.
Byredo Bibliotheque Candle.
My boujie birthday present to myself, I’m a little obsessed with this candle. I love it’s woody scent, it’s so atmospheric and beautiful! I’ve been burning this when I’m sat at my desk working and it helps get me in the mood to work, I’m pretty sure now that when I smell it I want to write! Byredo candles are not the cheapest but the scent throw is fantastic and even though this is a travel mini, I’ve burnt it loads and still have well over half left!
What have you been loving during the lockdown?
