New year seemed like the best time to restart this old faithful series, I used to LOVE doing these Five To Buy posts but like anything, sometimes too much of a good thing is just too much. After a bit of a break though (in fact it looks like it’s been almost exactly a year since the last one) I’m excited to bring this back as a regular feature. So without further ado, if you only buy 5 things this month let it be…
Lush Sleepy Shower Gel. This has been a favourite of mine since it’s launch a while back, as a big fan of the Sleepy body lotion I knew I had to have this. As a perpetually busy minded gal, I struggle sometimes with shutting my brain off long enough to fall asleep. Curating a good evening routine definitely helps, and these days the Lush Sleepy Shower Gel is a big part of that routine. An evening shower where you slather your body with this is a great way to start winding down for sleep. Worth every penny, I’ve got a big bottle in my shower and a little one in my travel wash bag too.
IT Cosmetics CC Cream. I know I’ve waxed lyrical on this time and time before, but for good reason. My go to January base of choice, the IT Cosmetics CC cream can be smushed onto the face with just your hands, built up for a little more coverage, and still always manages to look like great, natural glowy skin. The perfect foundation for tired winter skin.
NARS Laguna Bronzer. Anyone else craving a bit more glow to the skin right now? My glorious summer tan has all but gone, so I’ll admit to working overtime with my bronzer brush. I keep coming back to NARS Laguna, it’s the perfect not-too-orange not-too-grey not-too-shimmery bronzer to faux glow with for the winter, and adds a little definition too. I’ve hit pan on my second one of these, that’s how much I love it.
Verb Hair Ghost Oil. Since getting my hair cut at the beginning of December, this stuff has been my hair’s best friend. I smooth a pump of this through the lengths of damp hair before styling, use it to smooth flyaways and add shine to dry hair. It’s a super lightweight oil, almost more serum-y in texture, it smells great and keeps my hair looking glossy and healthy. It’s also great at preventing that January-Damp-Air-Hair-Frizz, you know the one I mean.
Herbivore Lip Balm. ‘Tis the season for dry lips. I treated myself to the Herbivore Coco Rose Set in the Space NK Sale, and I’m really taken with the lip balm. Soft, hydrating, with a gentle rosey scent, I’ve been keeping this on my bedside table for a pre-sleep lip nourish.
So there you have it, five beauty treats worth the splurge this month.
