I’m always looking for an excuse to treat myself, and a new season has become the perfect excuse. I feel like when autumn rolls around and you inevitably spend a little less time outside, it’s nice to treat yourself to a few things to make the transition towards winter a little easier. In the interest of helping you out (read: enabling you) I’ve compiled a little list of things you should DEFINITELY treat yourself to this autumn.
At home coffee treats. Autumn is the perfect time to make your coffee a little more luxurious than usual. Pick up spiced syrups, chai mix, maybe even stock up on whipped cream and marshmallows for a decadent hot chocolate treat. A new mug wouldn’t go amiss either!
A new magazine. To be perused over coffee on a Sunday morning. The new Cozy issue of Frankie is a winner, but I also love picking up Breathe and The Simple Things this time of year!
Autumnal candles. Because who doesn’t want their home to smell like the inside of a pumpkin.
A weekend in nature. Whether you’ve got the budget to book a cosy lakeside cabin, or a staycation is more your style, treat yourself to a proper weekend in nature. Go on long rambling walks with picnics and flasks of hot tea, and warm up after in a local cosy pub.
A new blanket. Here’s hoping that autumn brings with it more cosy evenings snuggled up on the sofa, or even out on the balcony under the stars! It’s the perfect excuse to invest in a new snuggly blanket, because who doesn’t want to spend autumn snuggled up under a blanket!
A thick scarf. Since it’s not socially acceptable to go out and about wrapped in blankets, giant scarves are the closest thing we’ve got. I’m a sucker for a Zara blanket scarf, but ASOS have some pretty incredible ones right now too.
A bouquet of autumnal blooms. I love fresh flowers all year round, but get particularly excited about blooms in autumnal hues. I tend to gravitate towards bouquets of alstroemeria and dahlias, especially when arranged with gypsophila.
Body treats. I like to invest in a little body TLC as September rolls around. It’s the perfect excuse to stock up on bath bombs and oils, luxurious body creams and even a scrub or two. I love that feeling of following up a long soak in the bath with a slathering of moisturiser before bed on a cold autumn evening, even better if everything’s spicy scented!
I’ve put together a little shopable widget with some of my favourite autumn treats, don’t say I never enable you!
What’s on your treat yourself list this autumn?
