Spring is well and truly underway, and my beauty routines have changed to reflect it. I want different things from my skincare and makeup during different seasons, so I like to make semi regular switches. When Spring rolls around I’m all about light layers, glowy pinks and healthy looking skin, so these are the products I’m reaching for for my perfect spring beauty routine.
As the weather warms up, I’m looking for simple skincare solutions that feel light on the skin, sink in quick, and give me a good glow. I switch my cleanser out to the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, which is softening and hydrating, whilst being light and not leaving a residue on the skin.
I love facial sprays in the spring summer months, I use something like the Too Cool For School Coconut Milky Mist in the mornings for an added burst of hydration, and my Caudalie Eau De Beauté throughout the day for a pick me up.
I switch my usual moisturiser for something lighter in texture like the Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Sorbet, and reach for my rose quartz facial roller in the mornings and evenings to help massage in serums and improve circulation in the skin.
The last thing I want come spring is for my skin to look caked in makeup, or masked. I want glowy skin, light base layers that make my skin look naturally radiant. I look for primers that offer a brightening or smoothing effect, like the First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Priming Smoothie, or Erborian Pink Perfect Creme. I then go in with a base like the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation, which is light in name, texture and coverage, simply adding a little glow and evening out to the skin tone.
A lighter concealer on any redness or blemishes, like the Glossier Stretch Concealer, and set it all in place with a glowy powder, like the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade, or the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders.
I’m not much of a pink girl when it comes to makeup (don’t worry, I make up for it everywhere else in life), but come spring I’m reaching for those pretty blushing pink shades. I love a pretty matte pink blush, something that looks a little bold and scary in the pan but turns the cheeks a naturally flushed shade. An old favourite is the Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot, which makes a reappearance every year in my makeup bag.
I tend to opt for pinky tinted lips this time of year, but usually opting for balmy, hint of colour formulas, over bold or opaque shades. I love the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Balm Perfectors, and Dior Lip Glow.
