If there’s one thing I love, it’s a Tom Haverford ‘treat yo’self’ moment. I firmly believe we all deserve a little treat every now and then, something decadently luxurious to splurge on. The sort of thing you wouldn’t normally buy yourself because it’s ‘too expensive’ or ‘unnecessary’? That kinda purchase. Maybe you’ve got a new job, finished a project, achieved a personal goal, or hell, just had a bad Monday, this is where you should be splurging.
I had to start here since, let’s face it, this underwear is the star of the show. I firmly believe that beautiful lingerie helps make you feel beautiful, and this set from Aubade makes me feel like a total princess. It’s easy to fall into the trap of feeling like your underwear is just another layer of clothing, and one that isn’t seen at that, but I prefer to think of it as a confidence boost under your clothes.
Every now and then I like to splurge on a new set that resparks that feeling! In these photos I’m wearing the beautiful Aubade Rosessence Half Cup Bra and the Rosessence St Tropez Short, and oh my am I obsessed with them. They’re beautifully made, comfortable, and look how pretty! Aubade underwear is a real treat, but worth every penny when it makes you feel so good!
A new moisturiser.
Is there anything more luxurious than splurging on decadent skincare? I love the whole experience, picking something up in Space NK, the ribbon tied black bag, cracking it out of the box for that first application after a good cleanse. There’s nothing more relaxing than an at home facial, and a good moisturiser (if you ask me) is the key ingredient. After polishing off a deluxe Sephora sample of the Sunday Riley C.E.O. Antioxidant Protect and Repair Moisturiser, I treated myself to a pot. I love applying this before bed, it’s rich and creamy, smells delicious and feels like a real treat.
Your favourite candle.
I suppose this doesn’t have to be an expensive purchase, but if you’re anything like me you probably appreciate a high end candle. If I could only burn one candle for the rest of my life it would be Diptyque’s Pomander, pricey, but the rich, spiced orange scent that fills the room when this is lit is worth every penny. A nice candle makes a great gift for others, but an even greater gift for yourself!
A new magazine.
Good magazines these days don’t come cheap, meaning for a lot of people they’re no longer an everyday purchase. A hard day often leads me to the aisles of WHSmith, where I’ll splurge on a printed publication to unwind with that evening (and if it looks good on insta, it’s a bonus!). Check out this post to see some of my favourites.
Now, when I say this, I don’t mean carting yourself of to Tiffany each time you have a bad day (although if that’s in your budget, you go girl). I follow a lot of indie jewellery companies on Instagram and every now and then I’ll treat myself to something new and sparkly from. My most recent acquisition was these beautiful necklaces from Rock N Rose, I’ve not taken them off since they arrived! They’re beautiful, high quality, and the price tag won’t make your bank balance shudder either.
What little luxuries do you splurge on?
The lingerie in this post was gifted to me by UK Lingerie, but as always, I only accept products from brands and companies I truly love!
