Powering through these New York hauls now, there’s only one more left after this! Going through my purchases for this haul I realised in the scheme of New York shopping I didn’t actually buy THAT much, which I suppose is good for my bank balance! That being said, there’s certainly a few things worth mentioning so let’s hop to it!
Starting with American Eagle, my main priority clothing-wise was to pick up some more jeans from them. American Eagle stopped trading in the UK last year and I was heartbroken, since they’re the only place that sells jeans that fit me.
Anyway, I was in dire need of some new denim, so I picked up a dark indigo wash skinny jean, and a lighter wash distressed mom jean. The High Rise Super Soft Jeggings have been my denim staple since I was 16 so I’m pleased to have another pair, and I the mom jeans are SO comfortable, I’m glad to have a replacement for my old ones that were getting a little TOO distressed.
They had a sale on in store so I had a little look and picked up a few bits in Aerie too. American Eagle is one of the few places that sells bralettes in larger sizes, so I picked up another on in a dusky pink shade for $10 in the sale – I love the strap detail on this one! I also grabbed a pair of the sleep shorts, they’re my favourite to wear to bed and I loved the ‘let’s sleep in’ motif. I can’t find these online but they were $5 in the sale and they’re so darn comfy.
Madewell had a pretty impressive sale on too, and whilst unfortunately most of it was just itty bitty sizes, I did manage to grab two rather impressive bargains! I picked up this colourblock crossover sweater, I love the slouchy oversized fit and the crossover detail on the back, and it’s so soft! I also grabbed a longsleeved ribbed grey tee, it’s got a simple ruffle detail on the shoulder that’s super pretty. They were both reduced to $40 and $25 in the sale, but they had an additional 30% off sale items so they ended up being incredibly cheap for Madewell!
I also couldn’t resist snapping up a classic Madewell Bien Fait tote bag! At $5 each these are so well priced, and it’s sturdy enough to carry around my everyday extras, books and waterbottles and snacks, as well as folding up small to fit in my handbag for the just-in-case days.
The Victoria’s Secret Semi Annual Sale started whilst I was in the states and it would have been rude not to stop in, right? I always try to pick up a bra in the sale as I only wear VS bras and they’re pretty pricey, this time I managed to grab this pretty green Perfect Coverage one, my favourite everyday style, for $16 which was a total bargain.
I fell in love with this forest green sports jacket too, it’s a really nice shape and it has thumb holes which is an instant win for me. It’s from the workout collection but I’ve been wearing it all the damn time, it’s so warm! I can’t find it online but it was $20 in the sale and worth every penny.
I also grabbed two pairs of my favourite satin pyjama bottoms at $20, one black and one dusky pink. These are my favourite for lounging round the house and sleeping all year round because they don’t get too hot!
A few accessories made their way home with me too. I ended up picking up some gloves in Anthropologie because it was so cold and my thin cashmere ones weren’t cutting it. They’re super cute double lined navy with a pretty mustard pompom, and get bonus points for saving my frozen fingers. They were also on sale for $16 which I think is the cheapest anything has ever been in Anthropologie.
I ended up picking up a new Apple Watch Strap during an emergency Apple Store charging sesh too. I hadn’t planned too but since the straps work out around £10 cheaper out there, it seemed silly not to. I just grabbed the sports band in Pink Sands, it’s a nice subtle and practical choice for everyday.
And finally, I treated myself to the beautiful Sweet Nothing Ring from Catbird in Brooklyn. It’s a gorgeous simple gold chain ring that’s so dainty I can’t actually feel it when I’m wearing it. It’s so pretty and it reminds me of our trip every time I see it! Considering it’s 14carat gold, it was pretty reasonably priced!
And that’s all folks!
