2017 is running away from us, and once again we find ourselves at the beginning of a new month. My November to do list is pretty straightforward, centred mostly around Christmas prep + getting cosy for the winter months, which is what November is all about really, isn’t it! I feel like it’s going to be another busy month, so cross your fingers I manage to get all this done!
Have a firepit night! I did this last year and it was SO much fun. My parents have a chimenea in their garden, we lit the fire, made hot cider, roasted marshmallows, and spent the evening cosied up by the flames stargazing. The perfect way to spend a clear November night!
Bake Gingerbread men! My dad is away for a bit in November, and I was trying to think of something fun my mum and I could do while he’s gone – I think gingerbread men are the way to go! I want to perfect the recipe so I can make little gingerbread stars to give people at Christmas.
Re-Read Northern lights. Phillip Pullman’s new novel hit the shelves last month, and I desperately want to give it a read, but I want to re-read some of his previous work first. I loved reading the His Dark Materials series the first time, I even wrote a few short stories inspired by it, so I’m looking forward to re-visiting the series.
Pick up a beauty advent calendar. I watched Fleur de Force’s video on beauty advent calendars and MAN was that a mistake! I’ve had my eye on the Liberty one, because a Diptyque candle AND a Byredo hand cream, swoon, but it’s sold out so I may go for the Estée Lauder one instead!
Make Yoga part of my evening routine. I’m halfway through the Yoga for Anxiety course I’ve been doing, and getting up early to practice at the beginning of the day just isn’t working for me. I still want to make time for daily practice, so this month I want to figure out how to make it part of my evening routine.
Order my 2018 Life Planner. New year is creeping up on us and if you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know I’m a devoted Erin Condren Life Planner user. They ship from the US so I want to get my order in this month to make sure it arrives in time for the new year! Now I just need to decide if I want a copper or gold coil! I have a $10 off code here!
Put a dent in my Christmas shopping. Gifts and decor alike, I want to get the bulk of my Christmas shopping done this month for peace of mind + in case I end up doing my dad’s shopping too!
Make sure I have all my friend’s addresses. I want to be on the ball and mail out Christmas cards at the beginning of December, so I need to do a little recon this month and make sure I have everyone’s addresses!
Perfect my at home chocolate recipe. Gingerbread, marshmallows, white chocolate shavings, whipped cream – I’m going all out!
