I love a Sunday pamper party as much as the next person, but sometimes my schedule just doesn’t lend itself to an afternoon spent luxuriating in the bath and a full at home facial-mani-pedi routine. I like feeling refreshed and ready for the week ahead though, so I’ve developed a recipe for a speedy Sunday pamper routine which leaves me feeling relaxed + ready for the week ahead, but takes me all of about half an hour.
I start off by using a micellar water to take off my makeup, I usually use Bioderma Sensibo H2O but right now I’m using up some of the Garnier Skin Cleansing Water. I do this whilst the shower is warming up, my favourite treat on a Sunday night is a steaming hot shower.
In the shower I use the Herbal Essences Daily Detox Cleansing Shampoo to remove any product build up in my hair and leave it feeling clean and fresh for the week ahead. I then slather the ends in the Bleach London Silver Conditioner to keep my bleached ends from turning brassy. Both this shampoo and conditioner I use once a week almost like treatments, and then I use a normal hydrating duo throughout the week.
Whilst my conditioner’s working it’s magic I wash my face with my Grown Alchemist Gentle Gel Facial Cleanser to remove any remaining traces of makeup and give my skin a good clean. I’ll use the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub to soften my limbs, and make shaving my legs a little easier. I lather up with my Lush Prince Charming Shower Cream, shave my legs, rinse off and shower is done.
Once I’m out of the shower I’ll slather my face in a hard working face mask, one that only requires ten minutes but you’ll notice a difference after using. I usually reach for the Kiehl’s Tumeric and Cranberry Seed Radiance Masque, which softens + brightens my skin, but recently I’ve been reaching for my Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask, which really helps renew my skin when it’s been a little bumpy. If I’m using a clay or moisture based mask, I’ll go in with a few spritzes of the Origins Maskimiser first to give them a helping hand.
I leave that on for ten minutes, normally while I run some oil (I like the Verb Ghost Oil) through my hair and put my pyjamas on, before washing it off with a hot damp cloth. I like to use a really hot flannel so that I get every scrap but it also opens my pores up before the next step.
I like to apply a good serum, right now I’m using The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid which really helps bumps up my skins moisture intake. I massage a few drops of this into my skin, concentrating on my cheeks and making sure I take it down my neck too, before following up with my moisturiser, the Grown Alchemist Hydrating Day Cream.
All moisturised up, I either apply a generous amount of a rich under eye cream, or use a mask like the Sephora Green Tea Eye Mask. I love these, they really soothe and perk up the undereyes, and I quite often fall asleep with them on!
And that’s it! Written down it sounds like a lot, but in reality it’s a half an hour before bed that leaves me feeling pampered, and my skin looking noticeably better in the morning!
