I’ve had these photos sat in my Dropbox ready to go since November, which goes to show how busy the last six weeks have been for me. Back on November 30th I headed out for a jam packed 9 days in the States, and I had my makeup bag ready to go maybe a week in advance. I like to get my makeup bag ready to go a little in advance to make sure I have everything I need (and to save last minute 4am scrambling on my way to the airport), and on this trip I knew I wanted good reliable products that I could apply in the morning and know would still be looking good by the end of the day, so a lot of these products are old favourites!
The makeup bag I used is from Muji, I’ve had it for years and it’s super handy, it’s durable, wipe clean and has lots of little pockets and pouches to keep things organised!
So getting into the makeup, I knew I wanted to take my Too Faced Hangover X Primer, which gives my skin a last burst of moisture before you go in with your makeup. My skin is always super dry when I travel, so I need every bit of help I can get! I ended up packing my trusty Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation, partly because the packaging is super travel friendly, and partly because it’s a great all rounder foundation. It’s lightweight and looks natural on the skin, but you can easily build it up for a little more coverage if you want it. I packed my Sephora Pro Airbrush 56 brush because it goes well with this foundation, and is great for buffing in concealer too. Concealer wise, I just packed my trusty NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, which covers everything and looks really natural.
I didn’t pack any contour or bronzer because day to day it’s not something I tend to use. I kept things simple with one blush and one highlight, my Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Fearless, which is a pretty pink that goes with any eye or lip look, and my trusty Urban Decay highlight in Sin. I just packed one brush for both of these, the Zoeva Luxe Cheek Brush, which is super soft and blends product beautifully.
For my brows I packed my Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil to fill in any gaps, this pencil matches my brow colour perfectly. I also chucked in my Benefit Ready Set Brow, just to hold things in place!
I packed two compact eyeshadow palettes to cover most bases. My Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics is a great all-rounder, packed with pretty taupey shades, and my NARS Duo in Alhambra, a duo of two perfect all over lid shades for everyday. I chucked in my Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Black Velvet, to smoke up the lashline, and my Elizabeth Arden Grand Entrance Dramatic Volume Mascara which is a great all rounder mascara.
I took a couple of lip options, the Sephora Collection Matte Lip Cream in Always Red for a bold lip option, and my Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Ex Girlfriend, which is my go to everyday nude lip option. I also chucked in my Lancome Juicy Shaker in Eat Cake which is super hydrating.
I used everything I packed and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, so I think I did a good job!
