I’ve been playing around with salted caramel in cocktails for a while now, I love me a salted caramel ANYTHING so introducing the flavour to cocktails seemed like a bright idea. It took a few ‘meh’ attempts, but this Christmas I think I found the perfect salted caramel cocktail recipe!
This little cocktail recipe was inspired by a cocktail I drank a lot in Australia. It was called the Shape of You, and they served it in our local bar. Cinnamon whiskey topped with cloudy apple cider and ginger liquor, it was sweet, fruity and spicy, which is basically everything I look for in a cocktail. This isn’t the same, but it’s definitely in a similar family!
It’s so simple to make I kinda feel bad calling it a recipe but there we go. To make this I mixed two shots of Jack Daniels, a cup of apple juice, a cup of pear juice and two teaspoons of salted caramel syrup in a shaker. I served it over ice here, but I’ve also tried it warmed through in a pan and it’s just as delicious. If you were looking for a boozier version, you could swap the juice for cider, but this is just delicious! Serve with a cinnamon stick, or a slice of apple and you’re good to go.
We’ll definitely be mixing up a few of these on New Years!
What’s your favourite kind of cocktail?
