It’s been a while since I’ve spilled the contents of my makeup bag to show you the products that are currently gracing my face, and there’s a fair few new/worth a mention products in the ranks, so it seemed like the perfect time to share!
My makeup bag right now is dictated by a few things. Firstly, my tan, which means I can basically only use one or two of my usual base products, and only one of my bronzers is dark enough. I’m also favouring a pretty glowy look right now, so the products I’m using reflect that.
I’ve recently rediscovered my Erborian Pink Perfect Creme, a brightening, smoothing primer that definitely isn’t talked about enough in the beauty world. I love that this adds a bit of light to my skin, whilst making things appear smoother, more naturally flawless. It’s a great base for makeup, but I’m also loving using it for no makeup days, just to smooth things out and create a barrier for my skin.
I picked up a mini of the Too Faced Born This Way Concealer while I was in Australia, and finally got around to trying it out. At the moment it’s too light to use anywhere other than under my eyes, but it’s perfect for there. It’s a nice medium coverage, doesn’t crease and doesn’t feel cakey either. I’ll definitely be picking up a full size of this.
I’ve also rediscovered my Chanel Les Beiges Powder, which is surely a slippery slope to bankruptcy. I forgot how much I love this powder, it sets things in place whilst almost adding a soft focus finish to the skin. I adore this powder, but the price still makes me shudder.
After too long apart, I finally caved and picked up another tube of the Marc Jacobs Volume Noir Velvet Mascara. Yes, it’s pricey, but there’s nothing else out there that gives me thick, fluttery lashes. You won’t see this gal ordering Glossier Lash Slick, I like my lashes big and obvious!
I also repurchased my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, which isn’t exactly news because I always have one of these on the go. I did however, pick up the limited edition 10th anniversary edition, which is in gold packaging covered in black stars. The most me thing I’ve ever seen.
I’ve been all about nude lips for the last few weeks, and I’ve been reaching for the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes, a buttery soft liquid lip in a pretty brown nude. It’s super comfortable on the lips and it’s easy to apply, even without a mirror.
I’ve been unexpectedly obsessed with warm toned eyeshadows the last few months (I think it’s the tan), and I finally caved and picked up the Urban Decay Petite Heat Palette. I didn’t expect to love this quite like I do, the shades are a lot more wearable than you’d think, they’re buttery smooth and they blend easily. I know I get a lot of use out of my Naked 2 Basics palette for travel, and I can see this being the same, despite only having 6 shades it’s a really versatile palette.
And lastly, I wanted to mention two skincare bits. The first is the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, which sorted out my post-surgery breakout in next to no time. It’s a great addition to your skincare routine if you’re looking for something to keep things clear and smooth. I’ve also been obsessed with my Rose Quartz Facial Roller, which is amazing for waking my skin up, and really working serums into the skin. I love using this on tired eyes, it’s so cooling and refreshing!
