Currently Loving

Life in Sydney was full on, lots of exploring, hunting out coffee shops and beach hanging, and not all that much working going on! I really enjoyed the break but easing back into real life has been hard! So I thought for today we’d take it slow, and I’d just share a few bits I’m really loving right now (go on, let me enable you…).

With the exception of the odd evening, I haven’t been wearing a whole lot of makeup. I’ve picked up quite the tan and so foundation has been a tricky one, and with the heat I didn’t much feel like slathering myself in slap. The exceptions to the rule were the few lightweight bits that just helped me feel a little more groomed, and I’m sure you won’t be surprised at all that they’re all from Glossier.

I can’t really remember what life was like before Boy Brow, it’s like brow magic. A quick comb through my brows with this stuff and they look thicker, fuller, and more organised, all in about 3 seconds. Win. I’ve been reaching for the Generation G Lipstick in Cake too, just to impart a touch of colour on the lips. A little bronzer and mascara and that’s basically my whole makeup routine right now.

My lips have been pretty dry from the sun, so I’ve also been toting the Balm Dot Com in Rose around with me. I’m not usually one for rose scents but this one is pretty subtle, and keeps my lips feeling supple and hydrated. (ps, follow this link for 10% off glossier!)

My hair has taken a sun/sea/chlorine battering over the last six weeks, and so to compensate I’ve been laying off the heat. I’m so glad I picked up a travel size of the IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil GelI run this through the lengths of my hair post-shower and then just let it air dry. The Rich Kid just gives my natural curls a bit more shine and a bit more hold, so they look the tiniest bit more organised.

And lastly in the beauty department, I picked up a big bottle of Jergens Soothing Aloe moisturiser in Priceline, just to stop my newly tanned skin getting too dry. I love how lightweight this stuff is, it’s super hydrating but sinks in fast and doesn’t feel sticky. I love the handy pump too, I just keep this on my bedside table and slather myself in it before bed.

A few other bits worth the mention, I’ve pretty much lived in my Havaianas for the last six weeks and I really can’t rate them enough. They’re so much softer and more comfortable than your average flip flop, and they don’t need wearing in either. My last pair lasted me around 5 years, so they’re worth the investment if you ask me!

I’m so glad I packed my Whistles Joyeux tee, I got so much wear out of it. It looks super cute with shorts, tucked into midi skirts, or with jeans in the evenings, and the fabric is so incredibly soft.

And lastly, my Madewell tote has come in SO handy! For ferrying towels to the pool, taking magazines to the beach, bringing back groceries from the supermarkets, and for keeping my shoes separate from my clothes in my case – basically the best $5 I’ve ever spent!
