A Winter Wishlist

With Christmas on the horizon November is a no-spend month for me, I’ve got gifts and decor aplenty to buy so I’m trying to reign in my spending on unnecessary stuff . Unfortunately for me, November is also the month when shops seem to release their very best bits of the year, ready for the Christmas season so whilst my spending is shrinking, my wishlist is growing! I thought I’d share some of the highlights in case you’re looking for gift ideas or things to add to your own Christmas wishlist!

A peruse of Anthropologie in Edinburgh this weekend left me wanting, well, pretty much everything, but in particular I have my eye on this zodiac notebook. I love anything astrology themed (something to do with my surname being Rockett I’m sure!) and this notebook is no exception, I love the soft metallic leather cover + the lovely thick paper, plus it comes with a pen! I also spied the Rifle Paper Co Astrology Calendar which I’m desperate to pick up, although it doesn’t seem to be available on the Anthropologie website!

I’m still eyeballing a few homeware pieces, I love this vase from Life Story Edinburgh, although in all honesty I think I want one of everything from this store! I spotted this print in store too, it’s so cute and fun, and I think it’d look great in my office! I also saw this letter board in the store featuring a coffee quote, and I think it would be the perfect thing for the wall in my kitchen! I’ve also been meaning to pick up the Rockett St George: Extraordinary Interiors book for quite some time, so that makes the list too.

Diptyque have also dropped their Christmas candles over the last couple of weeks and as expected, they’ve totally nailed it. The candles are themed around mythical creatures (swoon) and I’m particularly taken with Dragon – a spiced orange scent, and Unicorn – a fresh pine forest scent.

Clothing-wise I’ve got my eye on a few pieces, I’m totally enamoured with this jumper from Hush, I love the simple star print on the sleeves and it’s so super soft, I can’t help but touch it every time I’m in John Lewis! The real splurge piece I’ve got my eye on though is a Mulberry Tamara Logo Scarf in Navy, every winter I um and ah about treating myself to one, and this year they’ve released it in navy and it’s stolen my heart. Yes Mulberry scarves are pricey, but they’re beautiful, warm and classic pieces you’ll keep and wear forever.

There’s not much on my beauty lust list this year, but there are a few pieces worth a mention. I swatched the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Walk Of Shame during my trip to Oxford last month and fell head over heels. I’m a sucker for the formula of these lipsticks anyway, and this shade is a gorgeous brown toned red that’s surprisingly wearable. Also on the list is the Aveda Rosemary and Mint Body Lotion, which I’ve been using for a few weeks and have fallen in love for! I’ve only got a couple of travel minis of this at the moment, which are starting to run low, so I’d love to pick up a full size bottle!

  • I love the Rifle Paper Co calendars but am never quite prepared to spend the money on them – I may have to put one on my Christmas list! Would love a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick too – I haven’t tried any yet.

    • I seem to remember them being more expensive than they are this year, this one is only £16 which when you think about it is less than £1.50 a month! I love the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, they’re definitely worth the splurge!

  • I love the zodiac notebook too! But I can always spend all my money at Anthropologie! x

    • Haha spending money in Anthro is certainly not a chore! 😉 x

  • I have a Rifle Paper Co calendar this year and will be looking to buy one for 2018 as well … though I probably will buy the one where you can write a lot for each day rather than the more aesthetically pleasing one with no space to write anything :p diptyque Christmas candles are so gorgeous but the packaging this year doesn’t appeal to me as much as previous years. I still am curious to sniff the scents though! And I’ve been eyeing a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick for ages but can’t bring myself to justify the splurge … Very Victoria is a shade I’ve been liking the look of, but Walk of Shame looks beautiful as well.

    • I had the one you could write on year before last and I loved it but never wrote on it after January! Ah I definitely think they’re a particulare taste but I’m quite fond of them! I can wholeheartedly recommend the Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks as worth the splurge, I have Pillow Talk and Love Liberty and they’re both amazing!
