Spring Beauty Loves

Can you tell I’m feeling the Spring vibe right now? Today I’ve got a more general themed Spring beauty round up for ya, talking about makeup, skincare and perfume I reach for when the weather starts to warm up!

Let’s start with the skincare product I can’t stop raving about shall we? The Kiehl’s Cactus Flower and Tibetan Ginseng Mist isn’t necessarily a product you need, and you can probably find something similar for less money but this is the one I love. As a pre makeup skin refresher, as a my-makeup-needs-a-refresh spray, as a my-skin-feels-tight fix, or as an I’m-tired-and-need-waking-up spray. It smells good, it makes my skin feel fresh + juicy, and it’s just all round a great product.

Moving on to makeup bits, there are two base products I pretty much exclusively reach for at this time of year. Both of them share a lightweight formula, but the similarities end there. The Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Gel is light and, for lack of a better word, juicy looking on the skin. It’s kind of a skin even-out-erer, it just gives my skin a uniform colour and a bit of a glow. It’s definitely a dewy one, oily skinned gals steer clear, but if moisture is your jam you’ll love this. The other choice is the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream, my base of choice for days when I need a little more coverage. It’s a light formula, doesn’t feel thick or claggy on the skin, but it’s a matter finish than the Bare Minerals offering, and easier to build up for a little more coverage. It still looks natural and glowy on the skin though, so it’s a nice choice for the warmer weather!

I always find that when the sun makes it’s first appearances in the year, my eyeshadow seems to just stop staying put on my eyelids. It’s like magic, I have no problems with creasing or smudging, and then the sun comes out and BOOM it’s gone. That’s why I always keep a tube of the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden on hand, a little of this on the lids pre shadow and that stuff is going nowhere!

I’m not normally much of a bronzer gal, but I picked up the Max Factor Creme Puff Bronzer in Golden Bronze last month and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s light enough to not look orange or too dark on even my ghostly skin, and it’s got veins of golden shimmer that add a healthy glow to the skin. A little of this dusted on my temples and under my cheekbones gives a little bit of a glow and warmth to the skin.

And lastly, a little shout out to my Spring fragrance of choice, the Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Cologne. It’s a light and fruity scent that isn’t too sweet, but rather quite tart, with just enough woody notes for it to be quite a calm scent. I picked this up on the plane back from America in December, and it’s been a firm favourite since!
