I may have done a liiiiiiitle bit of shopping whilst in Copenhagen – not a ton cause Copenhagen is HELLA expensive, but there were a few bits that made the cut. I also went a bit bonkers in Duty Free, I think there’s something about all the lights and lack of windows to the outside that makes me go a bit mad in there, I always seem to leave with a few new bits! So today I present a (mostly) beauty haul, with a few other bits thrown in!
Getting the non beauty bits out of the way first, it was bitterly cold at the beginning of the second day, so I darted into the big ol’ Zara and picked up this russet coloured, pashmina style scarf. It’s incredibly soft, huge and warm, and only a couple of pounds more than it would have been in the UK (unlike most of the stuff in that Zara that was £10-£20 more).
I found this gorgeous little homeware store called Notre Dame round the corner from the Rundetaarn, and although I wanted to buy EVERYTHING, I resisted and just picked up this gorgeous little candle. It’s by a company called Broste Copenhagen, and is in the scent Morning White, which is a gorgeous fresh scent with notes of Peach, Mint + Grape. It’s made with soy wax + I love the minimal branding.
I also simply had to pick up a Starbucks City mug to add to my collection! The Copenhagen one has the Nyhaven colourful houses + even a little bike too, it’s super cute!
Moving on to beauty bits! I had a little MAC wishlist to pick up in Duty Free – I always try to purchase any MAC products from Duty Free, they usually have everything in stock and the 20% discount makes them a lot more affordable! I picked up the Pro Longwear Concealer in NW15, which had been recommended to me as a great high coverage concealer that works on blemishes + dark circles equally well. I’ve become quite hooked on this stuff over the last few weeks, and whilst I find the pump packaging a little confusing and inefficient – I don’t think I’d be without this now! I also finally picked up the Studio Fix powder, again in NW15, after hearing rave reviews. Whilst this is a great powder I’m not sure I’d be in a hurry to repurchase it, I still think I prefer my Chanel Les Beiges!
We just had to track down a Sephora whilst we were in Copenhagen, which was much trickier than it sounds! Both Google and Yelp were giving me the wrong address and just when I’d given up hope of finding it, we spotted a girl with a Sephora bag whilst making our way to the Metro station to go back to the airport! We legged it off in the direction she told us and did a supermarket-sweep style tackle of the mini store!
I picked up two more of the Sephora Eye Masks, one Avocado and one Green Tea – my two favourites! I also picked up two of the new Sephora Collection Charcoal Pore Strips, which I haven’t tried yet but will report back on! It’s not pictured here, but I also grabbed a travel size bottle of the Sephora Collection Brush Cleanser to try out, as I’m running low on my MAC one!
I also took this opportunity to pick up a tube of my favourite mascara, the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir, as it’s been out of stock on John Lewis for months. I grabbed the Anastasia Brow Whiz in Medium Brown, as I’ve been meaning to try it for forever – I finally understand the hype! And finally I grabbed another Sephora Matte Lip Cream, this time in a soft pink shade. I’d have bought more but the exchange rate to Kroner is SHOCKING, so this alone cost a small fortune!
Again, because the exchange rate sucks, I didn’t pick up much on the way back through duty free, but I did spot the Origins Ginzing Mask, which I snapped up for about £14, and a new tube of Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden for £10.
And that was it! Written down it looks like a lot but realistically it’s mostly makeup! Oops!
