February Makeup Bag

The start of a new month is always an excuse for me to switch up my everyday makeup. At the moment my makeup is kinda split between three places, I have an everyday makeup bag, a stash of Muji drawers at my parent’s house with my favourites in, and everything else is currently in storage. I can’t wait til next month when we (hopefully!) move into our new place and I can have all my makeup in one place. For the meantime, I thought I’d show you my February makeup picks, that I’ll be keeping in my makeup bag at the house we’re looking after!

When it comes to February, I want my makeup to be light and simple, but pretty glowy too, so this month’s picks are all themed around that!

Rimmel Fresh Skin Foundation

I’m super into primers at the moment, and my skin always looks flawless when I use the Eborian Pink Perfect Creme. It’s similar in texture to the Benefit Porefessional, but this is slightly thicker, so I find it does a better job of smoothing out pores. I just use a little of this on my TZone where the pores can be a little bigger, and it’s the perfect base for foundation.

Currently in rotation is my Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation, a gel based formula that’s super light on the skin. I like to use my Beauty Blender to bounce this into the skin for a light finish, it just evens out my skin tone and makes things a little brighter + healthier looking. It’s got a bit of a glow to it, but it’s a great choice for making your skin look naturally bright and healthy. For concealer, my skin is pretty good right now, so I’ve just been using the Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer to help defeat my perpetual undereye circles.

For cheeks I’m keeping things simple with just my MAC Mineralize Blush in Ray Beam. I love this, it’s a super pretty peachy shade, that looks really natural on the skin. The formula of these is super soft and buttery, so they blend beautifully into the skin. This one has a hint of shimmer to it, so I tend to skip highlight and just use this for a natural sheen instead.

sephora palette

I picked up the Sephora Sunbleached Filter Eye Palette when I was in Paris back in March, and although it’s a beautiful palette, I haven’t used it anywhere near enough! I plan to make it worth it’s while this month, it’s got so many pretty, warm toned shades. I’ve also popped in my Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Liner in Walk of Shamewhich is perfect for using on the waterline to brighten things up and mask tired eyes.

For brows I’m keeping things simple this month, and going back to my trusty Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Eyebrow Pencil, which is perfect for bulking up my brows. I love that it has a built in spoolie, very handy for keeping my unruly brow hairs in place. I need to pick up a new mascara, my favourite Marc Jacobs Volume Noir Mascara is almost all used up, but for the time being, I’ve chucked my Shu Umera Lash curlers in, to give my lashes a little lift and volume!

And for lips I’m keeping things simple, with my favourite Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 07, the perfect dusky pink shade for everyday. I love this product for this time of the year, it’s light on the lips and not at all sticky, nice and moisturising, and just a hint of colour.

And that’s that!

What’s in your makeup bag this month?
