I didn’t do it, it wasn’t my fault, and if this were America I would sue.
(Ten points to anyone who gets that reference)
Okay so maybe I did do it. And it was my fault. But after years of hoping, wishing and lusting, who can blame me?
Yes, it’s true, the majestic Kat Von D Beauty line has finally launched in the UK. *queue banners, a parade and 1,000 party poppers going off at the same time*.
I LOVE Kat Von D makeup. Every trip to America is mostly about getting to Sephora for my fix of US beauty, and KVD is always on the top of my list. I swear by the Tattoo Liner in Trooper, I love the blushes (although boo, they’ve been discontinued) and their eyeshadow palettes?! Swoon.
So when I just happened to be back in London the day after the first UK counter opened? Well it had to be done didn’t it?

Before I get into the haul, I should point out that the counter itself is bloody gorgeous, and all the girls on the counter were fantastic and super helpful, despite clearly being overwhelmed!
I spent a fortune, and yet I’d still describe myself as having been restrained. I picked up two things that had been on my list for a while, and two that I saw and couldn’t resist.

So first port of call was to pick up the Kat Von D Lock It Créme Concealer – one of the few concealers in the world actually light enough for my skin tone. I have the shade Light Neutral One, as light as it gets without being white, and it’s perfect for brightening under my eyes. It’s high coverage but blendable – and not cakey either, and it covers even my awful dark circles really well.
I also wanted to pick up another Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, and ended up opting for the shade Double Dare. It’s a really unique shade, a mauve with coral undertones, different to any other lipstick I own. I love the texture of these, they’re liquidy, but not too runny that they’re hard to apply, and they dry down to a matte finish almost instantly. And when they say everlasting – they mean it, even a burger won’t budge this.

Then things got a little out of hand. I picked up the Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder, a loose translucent powder that is so incredibly soft. I’d describe this as like a soft focus filter for your face, it’s not a harsh matte finish, it just softens everything, and helps lock your makeup in place.
And lastly, I just couldn’t leave behind the Kat Von D Contour Quad Shade and Light Palette in Plum, because LOOK AT THOSE COLOURS. I honestly can’t fault the formula of these shadows, and I can see this being my ultimate Autumn palette! And that packaging is what heart eyed emojis were made for.

I’ve got all the products on my face in the above photo so you can see them in action! Do you see what I mean about the powder?
So the verdict? Kat Von D is killing it, and if you can, get down to the Oxford Street counter in Debenhams! If you can’t, well they are online…
