You guys will remember that last month I visited Café Rouge with my girl Tash to try out their new Autumn Edition menu. We had a fantastic time, so when Café Rouge invited me back to try out their breakfast menu, I of course said yes!
This time, my reservation fell on Connor’s birthday, so I took him along for a leisurely start to his birthday celebrations! We visited the Bournemouth branch again, and I have to say, it’s a gorgeous spot. Super friendly staff & a good atmosphere. We sat in the back conservatory, which was bright, light, and warm in the early November sunshine!
We ordered a cappuccino & pot of mint tea whilst we perused the menu. There’s SO much choice at Cafe Rouge, from a light pasty & fruit breakfast, to pancakes, full english & avocado toast! It took us a long time to settle on a dish!
In the end we both settled on variations of the avocado toast. I opted for straight up avocado & tomato, adding a poached egg, whilst Con settled on the avocado & salmon, with two poached eggs (he was super hungry!). Both were served with a sprinkling of chives, on a bed of toasted sourdough. The avocado was creamy and delicious, and the serving sizes were just perfect!
We also both ordered a glass of fresh orange juice to have with out food and it was so tasty! I was feeling a little under the weather, so a big glass of vitamin C was much needed!
The staff cleared away our plates, and offered us a sweet treat from their selection of pastries. I opted for a plain old croissant, whilst Con had a Pain au Chocolat. They were served in the cutest little wooden boxes, it felt like a picnic! The perfect sugar hit to keep us going for the rest of the day!
Overall we were really pleased with our meal, and we were also pleasantly surprised by the pricing! Café Rouge offer a breakfast deal, any dish + a fresh juice and hot drink for £9.95, a steal really! We’ll definitely be heading back soon!
Our meal was provided free of charge by Café Rouge, but as always all opinions expressed are my own!
