My September Bullet Journal Set Up

It struck me the other day, that although I talk about my Erin Condren Life Planner a lot here, I often neglect to mention my Bullet Journal. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever done a post on it, so whilst prepping for September I figured it’d be a great opportunity to show you round my journal.
I don’t follow the ‘traditional’ bullet journal setup, I’ve been using the system for over a year now and I have kind of adapted it over the months to what works for me! My journal is a Leuchtturm 1917 in grey, and I love it. The dotted pages really work for me, and it’s the perfect size to fit in my handbag!
So my September pages start next to this page from August, where I wrote down words and definitions that have no direct translation in English. As a Journalism graduate and full time writer, I’m a big fan of words, and quite a few of the pages in this journal have random words and definitions sprinkled on them!
The lettering of ‘September’ was a bit of an experiment inspired by some lettering I found on Pinterest! I think the leafy theme fits the idea of September, but I perhaps need a little more practice at this!
Monthly Page: The first proper page is a monthly view of September, where I’ve written in a few key dates and events. I like to have a page to flick through and see where I’m at, an overview of the month. I’ll add to this throughout the month, and I don’t put every event in, just the important things to remember and birthdays!
Goals Page: The facing page is home to my goals for the month, divided into four categories. I just like to have this to refer back to throughout the month to keep on track. Dividing it up and colour coding everything makes it just a lot simpler to keep an eye on! I haven’t totally filled this in yet!
Gratitude Log: A gratitude log is the one thing that has stayed within my spreads month after month, and I love to have this to look back on. It’s super simple, just a space for each day of the month, for me to write in one thing I’m thankful for. It’s like a page of highlights of the month and I implore everyone to have one of these!
Fitness Tracker: This next page is a new addition, and possibly a little ambitious but we shall see! I’m trying to make more of an effort to do some kind of exercise each day – whether that’s hitting my step goal for the day, or taking a yoga class, or going on a hike. There’s not quite enough spaces for everyday (I don’t anticipate having something to write everyday) but I’m hoping that having this space will motivate me to get moving!
Meal Tracker: Again this is a part that stays the same month on month, this setup just works for me. A space to put in Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks for each day of the week. I like to keep track of my diet, and it’s another bit of motivation to eat well!
September Favourites: This page is obviously not finished, but this is a space for me to put in my favourite things throughout the month. This is a useful space twofold, partly because it’s nice to have these things to look back on, but also it comes in handy when putting together monthly favourites posts & videos!
September To Do List: If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I have a reoccurring feature where I put together of list of must do’s for the month – this is how that post starts out! I put together a list in my bullet journal of things to do – from dreamy pinterest things to things that would be good for the soul! It’s a nice list to look at if you have a free day, and it acts as like a little guide for how the month should go!
September Journalling Prompts: I always sprinkle a few pages of ‘traditional’ journalling in between my weekly pages, it’s a great exercise to do as a writer, especially if you’re struggling with a creative block. At the beginning of the month I like to collect some journalling prompts together that I like the sound of. I add more as I find them throughout the month, but I use these as a spring board for creative writing.
Movies, Magazines & Books: I’ve used this page a few times now, but this is my favourite incarnation of it! Normally it’s just a standard list of the movies, magazines and books I’ve consumed throughout the month, but this time I shook things up a bit and did a bit of doodling to fill in, and I absolutely adore how it looks!
Blog Ideas: Another reoccurring page, this is one of the most useful pages! I use this to jot down ideas for blog posts & videos throughout the month. Because I tend to always have my bullet journal with me on the go, it’s handy to have a space to write down thoughts and ideas as I get them!
Wild Imagination: For those of you who don’t know, Wild Imagination is my freelance business & website, so I use this space for any notes or ideas relating to that!
Budget Page: Usually this is more than one page, but since this month I’m ambitiously embarking on ‘No Spend September’, I’ve ambitiously kept it as one page! I use this space just to keep track of my outgoings and spendings!
Wishlist: Since I’m attempting a no spend month, I figured I’d supplement the budget page with a wishlist page! The plan is to use this space to write down things I see that I want, and if I still want them come October, I’ll think about splurging! (Sidenote: I really love the banner on this page!)

Weekly Spreads: I don’t preplan all my weekly spreads at the beginning of the month because, generally speaking, I lay out each week differently. I always include a water tracker, step tracker, space to put in my work schedule and sleep too, and then the rest of the space I use for to dos and reminders!
And that’s what September looks like so far! If you guys enjoyed this sneak peak let me know, and I’ll put together more of these types of posts!
Also if you have a bullet journal, let me know if there’s anything I’m missing!
